We have around 141 ships for domestic transport. We have around a 21% market share for petroleum products in terms of domestic maritime transport volume, and we play an important role in providing a stable supply of energy to petroleum companies and trading companies.
To ensure that you can entrust us with peace of mind for the transport of all kinds of petroleum products, including crude oil and fuel oil, which are fuel for thermal power plants; gasoline, which supports industry and daily life; kerosene; diesel; chemical products; LPG; LNG; asphalt; etc., we will continue to put safety first and strive to provide efficient services.

Ships for transporting petroleum products

Japan is almost entirely dependent on imports for its petroleum. Imported crude oil is processed at refineries to make gasoline, kerosene, diesel, naphtha, fuel oil, and other products vital for everyday life.

For an island nation like Japan, maritime transport allowing the transport of large quantities of goods at low cost is vital for the development of industry.]The Tsurumi Sunmarine group is the largest operator of tankers in Japan, with around 112 ships of different sizes.
Our domestic tankers transport around 22,410,000 KL per year (FY2024), including black oil for oil-fired thermal power plants and factories, white oil for oil storage facilities and petrochemical plants, and general cargo such as plaster.
We work with ship owners in the group to invest in new ships while using the knowhow that we have cultivated over a half-century to make significant contributions to safe and stable transport and environmental conservation.

LPG, LNG, and chemical transport ships; asphalt tankers

We began transporting chemicals* in 1961, asphalt in 1964, and LPG in 1979*. We currently operate around thirty ships specialized for such transport.
In 2008, we started domestically transporting LNG, with two of only six domestic LNG transport ships in Japan, with the aim of developing our transport business for the next generation.
We use our knowhow for specialized ships to facilitate a high level of safety and service quality. Our past performance has earned us a high degree of trust from customers as we support Japan's petrochemical industry through maritime logistics.
