Quality, safety, and environmental management
The key points of our company philosophy are quality, safety, environment, and continual improvements. In order to carry out our philosophy, we established the Tsurumi Sunmarine quality, safety, and environmental system to suitably carry out our business across land and sea and to make further improvements.
This is a comprehensive management system compliant with and certified under international management standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and the ISM code.

Business continuity management
As our head office is located in Tokyo, we cannot overlook increasing concerns about an earthquake directly under Tokyo.
We must be ready to ensure that ship safety and the environment are not significantly affected and customers are not inconvenienced even if our head office is affected by a disaster.
The system for minimizing the effect on business operations and ensuring a quick return to normal operations is called BCP (business continuity planning) or BCM (business continuity management).
We established a BCP and put it into operation back in June 2007.
Safety management
According to the Act Partially Amending the Railway Business Act to Improve Transport Safety (Comprehensive Transport Safety Act) enacted on October 1, 2006, certain transport businesses are required to establish a safety management system and submit safety management standards to the national government.
Our safety management standards are applied to the ships under our management and their owners, totaling around 50 companies and 130 ships.
